5 Questions with Coach Moncman
This is a new website feature, I am going to try and email Tim
a couple questions each week. Special Thanks to the man himself
Tim Moncman for being so cooperative and supportive of the website.
Q: The culture of Liberty football has changed so much in your
tenure. Do you feel more pressure as a coach now that everyone
expects the Hurricane to win every game? Do you think the expectations
have reached a point where it’s putting unfair pressure
on the team?
A: Winning is winning- this kind of pressure is better than
the type of pressure we had in the beginning to just be competitive
the pressure comes from the day to day battle of keeping these
kids accountable for school and outside of school no pressure
is unfair I think you earn this type of pressure.
Q: Has it been difficult to adjust the offense without Danny
Persa this year?
A: We have adopted a different personality and have used several
weapons (orlando/rivera/smith) to try and make up for it we
are not as explosive , but anthony gonzalez has done an outstanding
job.
Q: Defensively is this the best group you’ve coached at
Liberty up to this point in your coaching career?
A: If healthy it is a toss up between the senior year of hoagie/
mcclarin/bauer jarnagin
Q:Parkland looks like they are playing the best football in
the LVC right now, how do you think the Hurricane matches up
in a possible District 11 showdown?
A: Right now we are the underdog - consistency is the key ,
they are consistent week in and week out and we are inconsistent.
Q: You’ve won 43 out of your last 50 games including playoffs,
will this season be considered a disappointment if the Canes
don’t return to Hershey for their third straight appearance?
A: No -I just hope we play to our potential down the stretch
run - I do not feel you have seen us at our best
